Orientation Activity of the SEA Teacher Program on the Even Semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Year
Palembang, 23-24 March 2022.
Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Sriwijaya University (FKIP UNSRI) in collaboration with Pangasinan State University (PSU) in the implementation of SEA Teacher 2022.
In order to introduce and prepare for the SEA Teacher program, FKIP Unsri conducted an orientation activity for 2 days, on 23-24 March 2022. This activity was carried out offline at the FKIP Unsri Postgraduate Hall Building and online via Zoom Meeting.
It discussed the SEA Teacher program which will be carried out for 2 months, March 28-May 27, 2022.
In this activity, for the first time, students from the PSU, Philippines who conducted the SEA Teacher program at Sriwijaya University were met virtually with lecturers, teachers and students. There are 3 students from the Pangasinan State University, they are:
1. Recca Lyn Mamorno - English, PSU.
2. Lyka F. Adlawan - BPED, PSU.
3. Jinelyn Mananzan - Science, PSU.
Later, those three students will be placed in FKIP UNSRI partner schools to do the teaching practice.
Students in the field of Science and BPED are placed at the Singapore Indonesian School in Palembang, while the one in the field of English is placed at the Srijaya Negara Junior High School.
SEA Teacher is basically similar to PLP (Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan) activities which are routinely carried out by 7th-semester students of FKIP UNSRI. Students will learn how to make lesson plans and learn teaching practices to prepare the pre-service teachers who are ready to enter the community.
In this activity, there were also various parties involved, Deputy Dean of FKIP UNSRI, supervisory lecturers, tutor teachers from partner schools of FKIP Sriwijaya University (SIS Palembang & Srijaya Negara Junior High School), and also several FKIP UNSRI students who were involved.

With this orientation activity, it is hoped that all parties will be ready to prepare and carry out this program. Hopefully, it will provide many benefits like experience, relationships and also new knowledge for all the people who are involved in this SEA Teacher Program.
